So my best friends family is draining their pool for the summer right? Her sister and I go to see the progress, and to our surprise there are thousands of tadpoles! Not hundreds, THOUSANDS! It is honestly a spectacle to see, I have never seen something like this. I have seen a few tadpoles in an area, but never a giant writhing mass of them. So, to avoid genocide of thousands, they have stopped draining their pool until the tadpoles grow :) Most of them already have their back legs which means they are close to being done with their larval stage! Before we knew her dad wasn’t going to kill them all, we took some and are growing them in a separate tank. I am not quite sure what species they are yet because they are so young, but I am pretty sure there are at least two different types of species in the pool right now which would be the Grey Tree Frog, and the American Toad. Its just amazing to me how many are in the pool because they haven’t faced any predation because they live in a stagnant pool. They look like little raisins with legs :) I will be posting pictures soon of the babies! Wish them all luck! Just think, if they all grow at the same rate, then in a couple of weeks, there will be thousands of frogs and toads swarming out of the pool haha! I have been really busy working my ass off and I haven’t been really active… so I figure I would give you all a little something that is going on right now! Well I have to get up early for work tomorrow, so I will catch you all later and will be posting pictures!
